Costco Removes Two-Shopper Limit in Most Stores

Costco Wholesale Corporation has loosened its member store entry policy.

Last month, the store was only allowing two people per membership card. Now, it allows families of three or more at most of its stores throughout the country. The store still monitors and limits the number of people who can enter at a time.

Kentucky and Puerto Rico warehouses, however, will allow no more than one person to enter per membership card – Costco said on their website.

According to a report by Today, Costco returned to its regular store hours as of May 4th. From Monday through Friday, “the first hour at most locations is still reserved for shoppers who are 60 years and older, as well as people with disabilities.”

Shoppers will still be required to wear face coverings. However, Costco has reopened most of its food courts for limited service. Food courts are open for carryout orders but will be closed during the first hour.

As for shopping bags, the store will allow shoppers to bring their own. This can change if “a local municipality has placed restrictions on shoppers using their own reusable bags,” according to Today.

Moreover, Costco is limiting the number of fresh beef, pork, and poultry products customers may buy up to three items per member, as reported by Today.
