Death Of Criminal Prompts Violence Parade

The streets of Southern Los Angeles boiled over into riots yesterday after a cop involved shooting. A young teen was fleeing from police, reportedly from a stolen vehicle, when an officer shot and killed the suspect. People gathered at the place of the shooting, an intersection in southern Los Angeles, and before long riots broke out.

At around 8pm around two dozen people gathered at the intersection of Western and 108th Street in protest against the recent police shooting. The people caused road closures and a heavy police presence.

Protesters were seen driving their vehicles into the intersection and doing donuts before fleeing. Some were seen dancing on the roofs of cars.

18-year-old Carnell Snell Jr. was the teen that was killed by police the day before. Eyewitness News, reportedly, got to look at the crime scene. They claimed that six bullets ripped through the side of a home and a seventh went through a window.

Now, the LAPD is issuing a citywide tactical alert. The police have also warned protesters, still gathered at Western and 108th Street, that if they do not leave the area they will be arrested. After the warning was issued four people were arrested. Eventually, the citywide tactical alert was called off by midnight.

Police claimed, on Saturday, that they found a handgun at the scene of the shooting. Reportedly, the handgun belongs to Carnell Snell, although, no other information has been released.
