Democratic National Convention

We made it. The Democratic National Convention is finally over and all we had to do was suffer through 4 days of liars and fools, ending with the biggest of both. For any past coverage missed, please see our previous nightly breakdowns below.

Democratic National Convention Day 3 Wrap-Up

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Accuses Donald Trump Of Racism

Ex-basketball star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar took a jab at Donald Trump by introducing himself as Michal Jordan to a confused crowd at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday.

“I said that because I know that Donald Trump couldn’t tell the difference.”

This was an easy shot to take since Trump wasn't given the chance to defend himself. Nor should he need to. This was a clear case of pandering to the crowd who simply assume that Donald Trump is a racist, regardless of what the facts really say.

Chelsea Clinton Tries To Make Her Mother Seem Human

“She left notes for me to open every day she was gone. All stacked neatly together in a special drawer with a date on the front of each one so I would know which note to open which day,” Chelsea said.

“I treasured each and every one of those notes. They were another reminder that I was always in her thoughts and in her heart.”

Chelsea's job was to paint her mom, Hillary, as a regular loving mother and a patriotic American. She also worked hard to show her mother as a caring, hard-working parent who was deeply concerned with the future.

“My parents raised me to know how lucky I was that I never had to worry about food on the table, that I never had to worry about a good school to go to,” she said.

“They taught me to care about what happens in our world and to do whatever I could to change what frustrated me, what felt wrong. She taught me that’s the responsibility that comes with being smiled on by fate.”

If that last line sounds pretty familiar then it's because it is basically from a Spider-Man movie. That is what our politics have come too.

The Main Attraction: Hillary Takes The Stage

Hillary Clinton needed to address a few certain and key points, issues that had long been dragging her down and making her undesirable, even among her own loyal party. It was of dire importance to her campaign that she addressed her untrustworthy nature, her scandalous past, and her role with the emails – both old and new.

However, she addressed none of these. Instead, she gave a speech that could have been from any campaign stop in the last year. She dodged every single issue of importance and chose to double down on all her promises that we already knew about. Not one new thing was said.

“My job titles only tell you what I’ve done. They don’t tell you why. The truth is, through all these years of public service, the service part has always come easier to me than the public part. I get it that some people don’t know what to make of me, so let me tell you.”

Despite what she just said, she proceeded to rattle off a list of “accomplishments.”

She predictably attacked Donald Trump.

“Do you really think Donald Trump has the temperament to be commander-in-chief? Donald Trump can’t even handle the rough and tumble of a presidential campaign. He loses his cool at the slightest provocation,” she said.

“Imagine him in the Oval Office facing a real crisis. A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons.”

“Donald Trump says, and this is a quote, ‘I know more about IS than the generals do.’ No Donald, you don’t.”

“He’s taken the Republican Party a long way from Morning in America to Midnight in America.”

Her crowd of loyal fanatics loved that line and burst out with chanting.

She did do one thing that she needed to do to have a shot in November which was reach out to Bernie Sander's supporters. The problem is that she did so with lies and condescending remarks.

“I want to thank Bernie Sanders. Bernie, your campaign inspired millions of Americans, particularly the young people who threw their hearts and souls into our primary. You’ve put economic and social justice issues front and centre where they belong,” she said.

“And to all of your supporters here and around the country, I want you to know, I’ve heard you. Your cause is our cause. Our country needs your ideas, energy and passion. That is the only way we can turn our progressive platform into real change for America. We wrote it together, now let’s go out and make it happen together.”

Overall, nothing new was said and of all of it, very little was important.

Donald Trump's Response

The response from Trump's camp was quick and harsh.

“Hillary Clinton’s speech was an insulting collection of cliches and recycled rhetoric. She spent the evening talking down to the American people she’s looked down on her whole life.

“Hillary Clinton talks about unity, about E Pluribus Unum, but her globalist agenda denies American citizens the protections to which they are all entitled – tearing us apart. Her radical amnesty plan will take jobs, resources and benefits from the most vulnerable citizens of the United States and give them to the citizens of other countries. Her refusal to even say the words ‘Radical Islam’, or to mention the disaster in Libya, or her corrupt email scheme, all show how little she cares about the safety of the American people.

“It’s a speech delivered from a fantasy universe, not the reality we live in today.

“Hillary Clinton says America is stronger together. But in Hillary Clinton’s America, millions of people are left out in the cold. She only stands together with the donors and special interests who’ve bankrolled her entire life.

“Excluded from Hillary Clinton’s America are the suffering people living in our inner cities, or the victims of open borders and drug cartels, or the people who’ve lost their jobs because of the Clintons’ trade deals, or any hardworking person who doesn’t have enough money to get a seat at Hillary Clinton’s table.”

I couldn't have said it better myself.

This is it for the conventions. Hope you enjoyed our write-up and found them helpful. As always let us know what you thought about it, what you agreed with, and what you would have liked to see.
