Official Twitter accounts from the three confirmed that the Democrats tested positive for coronavirus. All three reported receiving booster shots previously.

Also, they reported experiencing mild symptoms of the disease. Prior to the reports, Warren went on the Senate floor before the body went on Holiday recess.

Warren tweeted the developments on her case prior to testing positive. “I regularly test for COVID & while I tested negative earlier this week, today I tested positive with a breakthrough case.

Thankfully, I am only experiencing mild symptoms,” she added. The Massachusetts senator also said she’s “grateful for the protection” from more serious symptoms.

In addition, Warren also used the occasion to ask everyone to get the vaccine. “As cases increase across the country, I urge everyone who has not already done so to get the vaccine and the booster as soon as possible – together, we can save lives,” she said.

Meanwhile, Representative Crow tweeted that he just returned from an official visit to Ukraine. Once he arrived home, he and fellow Democrats tested positive for breakthrough COVID-19 infections.

Omicron Making Presence Felt

The news that three Democrats tested positive for coronavirus comes at a time when the Omicron variant is starting to make waves. The newest strain pushed the US back into uncertainty as it resurrected health and political challenges.

Currently, the United States is facing a resurgence in coronavirus cases during the pandemic’s third year. As of last week, new coronavirus cases in the US averaged 126,967 per day.

This is significantly higher than the 70,0000 new cases reported last month. Data is from reports compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

Prepare For A Hard Winter

According to Dr. Anthony Fauci, White House Chief Medical adviser, America faces a hard winter with Omicron taking over the Delta variant. “It's going to take over,” Fauci said of the Omicron variant.

He also urged Americans to complete their vaccinations and get booster shots. “Be prudent in everything else you do: When you travel in your indoor settings that are congregated, wear a mask,” Fauci said.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization reported that Omicron cases are doubling every one and a half to three days.

In the US, experts are foreseeing that Omicron will soon establish itself as a dominant strain. Dr. Rochelle Walensky, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director, said that it’s only a matter of weeks.
