Fellow Democrat Says Vice President Uninterested in Border Crisis

A Texas Democrat representative called out Vice President Kamala for being ‘uninterested’ and ‘uncooperative’ on border matters. Ironically, the Vice President included the border crisis as one of her key policy issues.

Vice President Snubbed House Representative In the Area
Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX) is a moderate whose district covered 200 miles of the problematic US-Mexico border.
He said that his interactions with Vice President Kamala Harris are a disappointment so far. When Cuellar learned that the Vice President finally made plans to visit the border last June, he called her office to offer assistance. Harris, earlier tapped by President Joe Biden to oversee all border matters, didn’t return his calls.
“I say this very respectfully to her: I moved on,” Cuellar said. “She was tasked with that job, it doesn’t look like she’s very interested in this,” he added.
As a result, he said he’ll move on to other folks that would like to work on the issue. In addition, Cuellar compared dealing with Harris with dealing with her boss.
Cuellar said that dealing with President Joe Biden at the White House was far better. He said that when dealing with Biden, “at least they talk to you.”
Harris Visited the Border, Or At Least 500 Miles From The Border Crisis
Vice President Harris finally visited the border in June, five months into the job. Hilariously, she visited El Paso, Texas, which is hundreds of miles away from the Rio Grande Valley.
This is the area commonly agreed on as the epicenter of the border crisis.
Harris is exactly a popular choice as Biden’s border person. Sources allude to her complaining privately about the difficulty of the assignment.
The Vice President also got flak for waiting too long before visiting the border. At the same time, she keeps sending mixed messages about the situation.
In one conference, she called on migrants not to come to the US illegally. In another event, she called herself an advocate for both legal and illegal immigrants.
Border Crisis Continues To Worsen
Meanwhile, Cuellar continues to call out Democrat allies for their mismanagement of the border crisis. The Texas representative implored the Biden administration to listen to border patrol agents and not political appointees. Cuellar also called on Biden to replace the Vice President as the border czar.
Throughout Harris’ appointment, the border crisis remains at an impasse. Arrests at the border continue to rise as more and more migrants attempt to enter the US.
Critic blamed the Biden White House’s loose policies for the surge in migrant attempts to cross the border. In fact, the left-leaning Washington Post said that the rising death toll at the border is a call for action.
“The administration needs a more cogent stance at the border. Failing that, still more lives will be lost,” the news outfit wrote.
