Democrats to Hold 2024 Convention in Chicago
Democrats have decided to hold the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois, the “murder capital” of the United States, In a baffling move that appears to be an in-kind donation to the Republican Party.
The convention will take place from August 19 to 22, 2024, one month after the Republican National Convention, which will happen in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an hour to the north, from July 15 to 18.
Democrats, on the other hand, picked a reliably “blue” state that hasn't supported a Republican presidential candidate since the election of 1988, while Republicans chose a swing state.
Furthermore, the state and city are frequently used as examples of Democratic policy failures.
There is no end in sight to Chicago's 11-year streak of dominating the country in homicides. After voters ousted inept Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Brandon Johnson, a known left-leaning candidate, took her position as the new mayor last week.
Johnson, a radical Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) leader and former teacher, endorses many of the practices that have failed kids in urban education systems.
Businesses and residents are leaving the city in response to his proposals to hike nearly all taxes, following a long-standing pattern.
Cook County, where Chicago is located and where Johnson has served as a commissioner, lost 94,344 residents last year, second only to Los Angeles County in terms of population moving to more favorable areas.
Yet, it's possible that the Democrats, who could select President Joe Biden for reelection, are thinking back in time.
In 1996, when President Bill Clinton easily won reelection, Chicago last played host to the Democratic National Convention. Naturally, it is also where President Barack Obama decided to launch his political career.
