Dems Nadler, Schiff: DOJ Criminal Probe Is Nothing but ‘Political Revenge’

As reported by Newsmax, “two leading Democrats ripped the Department of Justice probe into the origins of the Russia investigation, calling it ‘political revenge’ for President Donald Trump.”

After the report about the DOJ shifting its focus to a criminal investigation, Reps. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., and Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said on Twitter: “These reports, if true, raise profound new concerns that the Department of Justice under AG Barr has lost its independence and become a vehicle for President Trump's political revenge.” They ended the statement with “If the Department of Justice may be used as a tool of political retribution, or to help the President with a political narrative for the next election, the rule of law will suffer new and irreparable damage.”

The White House digs into why the Russia probe was launched as John Durham, the U.S. attorney for the District of Connecticut, is leading the investigation.

In addition to this, a special counsel investigation did not find any evidence about Trump or his campaign conspiring with Russia to win the 2016 election.
