On Wednesday evening, during a town hall event on Fox News, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida slammed President Joe Biden for failing to help the people of Cuba who continue to stand up against the communist regime in their country.

DeSantis let out bold statements, which strategically came at the same time as Biden’s town hall event on CNN.

Fox News host Sean Hannity told DeSantis that he said, while the people of Cuba show incredible courage, the Biden administration show cowardice. He then asked DeSantis about what should the president be doing.

To that, the Florida governor said that Biden should “Step up and be on the side of freedom.

He then explained that internet access is something the U.S. is capable of doing. He said that many companies in the country want to do it, but they need approval from the federal government. The governor said that Biden has the authority to approve it and make it happen.

DeSantis then mentioned that if Biden is willing to do this, it would make a positive difference.

Although, he noted that the president is “just sitting there doing nothing. He’s leaving these folks out to dry. And what’s going to end up happening, if they’re — they don’t get any type of assistance, the regime will continue to clamp down, and they will eventually stamp this out, and then they will remain even stronger in power. And that will be a huge blow to the cause of freedom.”
