With the COVID-19 pandemic ongoing, Mattel and Fisher-Price announced on Wednesday the debut of three new playsets. The company says “actions that kids are seeing the adults in their lives do now more than ever” inspired these sets.

Playsets Inspired By Real People

The “Fisher-Price® My Home Office” set includes “a pretend laptop, 4 fabric apps to attach to the computer screen, a wood smartphone and headset for all those important business calls, and a to-go cup for kids to sip their favorite beverage,” reads the product description on the Fischer-Price website.

“Better grab a latte to go, that report is due this morning and there’s a call with the dog across the street after naptime. With the Fisher-Price® My Home Office set, your preschooler is the boss of their own work station at home, the local coffee shop, or the moon,” the product description reads.

Since we work from home during the pandemic, we also exercise from home. Fischer-Price also has the “Fisher-Price® Baby Biceps™ Gift Set” that includes a toy dumbbell, kettlebell, protein shake, and tiny headband.

“Lift, rattle, teethe, repeat. Those fine motor skills aren’t going to work themselves,” reads the production description.

Lastly, the “Fisher-Price® Cutest Chef™ Gift Set” includes “a crinkle recipe card, play tongs with a meatball spinner, a chewy oven mitt teether, and a wearable chef’s apron bib great for meal time and for critiquing the line cook’s mise en place.”

Chuck Scothon, Senior Vice President of Fisher-Price and Global Head of Infant and Preschool at Mattel, wrote that at Fischer-Price, “we’ve always been focused on making playtime more fun by infusing surprising and playful elements into our toys.”
