Florida Woman Dies After Family Sued Hospital for Not Using Ivermectin When Asked
A Florida woman who contracted COVID-19, and whose family filed an unsuccessful lawsuit to force a hospital to treat her with ivermectin, has died at the age of 47, according to the Washington Examiner.
A woman from Florida contracted COVID-19, and whose family filed a failed lawsuit that would’ve forced a hospital to treat her with ivermectin, has passed away, according to the Washington Examiner. She was 47.
Woman Denied of Ivermectin Treatment for COVID-19
Tamara Drock was admitted to the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center three months ago, according to her husband, Ryan Drock, as reported by the Examiner. He filed an unsuccessful lawsuit in October to try and force the hospital to treat Tamara by administering ivermectin – a treatment for COVID-19 that has not been approved by the FDA. A county circuit judge rejected the said lawsuit.
While Drock apparently did receive a dose of ivermectin as part of an initial deal, it fell through after her family’s attorney claimed that the dose was too low.
“I'm hoping they name a law after her, so no one has to go through this,” Ryan Drock told the news outlet. He added, “If she had walked out of the hospital, she could have had the medication.”
Jake Huxtable, Drock’s family attorney, spoke to WPTV in West Palm Beach. He said that he filed for an appeal of the circuit judge’s decision at the 4th District Court of Appeal.
“It's the freedom of choice,” Huxtable said. He further stated that “She had the freedom to choose to accept that medical treatment and the court didn't allow her and neither did the hospital.”
