Former WH Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany Joins Fox News
Kayleigh McEnany, the former White House press secretary during the Trump administration, has joined Fox News.
On Tuesday, Harris Faulkner announced the news and welcomed McEnany on “The Faulkner Focus.”
In McEnany's first interview since the change of administration, she shared her emotions while the Capitol siege took place last January. She said she thought the protest would be peaceful, but she felt shocked as the mob stormed the Capitol building, looking for members of Congress.
When the day started on Jan.6 and prior to the rally, “everyone was expecting peace,” McEnany said. She also noted that she has seen hundreds of protests, and all of them were peaceful, so they expected that particular one to be the same way.
Then, the former press secretary mentioned that as the riot took place, she felt a range of negative emotions, from disbelief to being horrified. She added that, for the White House, it was a difficult day.
McEnany then pointed out that other White House staff members likely felt the same way. She told Faulkner that everyone condemned the actions of the mob on that day. She said everyone was horrified and that there was a somber mood that enveloped the White House after the events transpired.

Apart from the Jan. 6 incident, McEnany also talked about her relationship with the current White House press secretary Jen Psaki. She said she wished Psaki all the best and left a note for her, saying this. She also said she met Psaki one time and that the current press secretary “was very kind.”
The former White House press secretary then went over the differences she sees in the way mainstream media treats the Trump administration and the way they treat Psaki.
McEnany explained that she remembered early press briefings where reporters asked Psaki about a serious topic. The current press secretary said that she hadn’t talked about it with President Biden yet, and the reporters let this go. However, McEnany stated that if she was in that position, that answer would not be enough for the reporters.
Although, McEnany said she’s not worried as most Americans are smart enough to see the difference.
McEnany graduated from Harvard Law in 2016. Her first gig on television was with CNN. She replaced Stephanie Grisham as press secretary under the Trump Administration just last April 2020. She spoke in a way that’s backed with facts and information. McEnany also helped in pointing out the hypocrisy in media.
