Biden’s America: U.S. Capital Nearly Out of Gas While Virginia and North Carolina Gas Outage Grows
Washington D.C. is nearly out of gas on Friday morning. Meanwhile, several states, such as North Carolina and Virginia, continue to struggle, as per recent data.
GasBuddy released data at 9:33 a.m. ET, revealing that the United States capital is experiencing a gas outage at 88%. Meanwhile, North Carolina is at 67% while Virginia is at 50%.
The recent attack on the Colonial Pipeline, as well as concerns connected to gas prices, contributed to a shortage of fuel supply on the East Coast. The said pipeline, the biggest oil system in the country, stopped operations following a ransomware attack last week. Soon after, concerns about gas prices rising have surfaced.
Although, the reopening of the Colonial did not sort out the shortage happening in the region.
According to a Breitbart News report on Thursday, in multiple states, more gas stations have no gas compared to the day before.
On Friday, Patrick De Haan, an oil and refined products analyst, said only a small outage improvement happened overnight. According to him, this puts “the next choke point” in the spotlight. Too many gas stations need fuel, but capacity is not enough and there is a lack of truck drivers to supply it.
In another post, De Haan added that many of the states having outages experience a bout of panic buying. He said this possibly contributes to “the slow-ish recovery thus far,” and that it will take a few weeks.
Biden Administration Refuses to Comment About Gas Company Paying Ransom
On Thursday, President Joe Biden had refused to confirm reports indicating that Colonial Pipeline Co. paid an almost-$5 million ransom to free their computer systems from the ransomware.
Reporters asked the president if he had been notified about the company paying the ransom, he said he had no comment on it, as per Breitbart News.

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki also did not comment when asked whether the administration has been made aware of the payment.
She said she’s “not going to have any more” regarding the matter. She Psaki also added that the federal government and the FBI that it is not in the best interest of the private sector for these companies to do so as it only “incentivizes these actions.”
