Google has postponed its planned unveiling of the beta version of its latest Android 11 mobile operating system due to the protests and unrest across the U.S., saying that it's not time to celebrate.

“We are excited to tell you more about Android 11, but now is not the time to celebrate,” Google said on its Android developers website. The virtual event was originally scheduled on Wednesday.

“We are excited to tell you more about Android 11, but now is not the time to celebrate. We are postponing the June 3rd event and beta release. We'll be back with more on Android 11, soon,” Android Developers said in a tweet.

According to the Android Authority website, Google did not reveal a new date for the event. However, tech tipster Jon Prosser claimed that the Pixel 4a is now scheduled for a July 13 reveal.

“Pixel 4a was originally May, then got pushed to June, now pushed again. ‘Just Black’ & ‘Barely Blue.’ Current plan for announcement: July 13,” Prosser said in a tweet.

“If true, this means we can likely expect the Android 11 beta release on this date too,” said Android Authority.
