Government Paid Professor Calls Trump Victory “Terrorism”

A professor at a California college was caught on video calling Donald Trump’s election an “act of terrorism,” saying the nation had been “assaulted” – and the local teacher’s union was quick to threaten the student who made the recording once it was posted online this week.

Our nation is divided,” said Olga Perez Stable Cox, a psychology professor at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. “We have been assaulted. It’s an act of terrorism. One of the most frightening things for me and most of the people in my life is that the people creating the assault are among us.”

The recording was made during a class lecture sometime after Election Day. The Orange Coast College Republicans uploaded the video to their Facebook page Monday.

“Did you know you’re a terrorist for having supported Trump? I didn’t but apparently that’s what they’re teaching in Orange Coast Colleges classrooms post election,” the video’s caption posted by the Republican group read.

The union responded through a comment on the post. “This video violates the Coast District student code of conduct and California Education code. The student(s) involved will be facing discipline,” the comment from Coast Federation of Educators, AFT Local 1911, read.

“We know this is a union scare tactic due to the fact a complaint could have been filed without the statements from the official Facebook page being placed in the comment section, on the OCC Republicans public page, in a manner which showed a desire to hunt down the anonymous student to punish them for having caught the statements on video,” the OCC Republicans told LawNewz in a statement.

The group would not confirm whether the student who made the recording was a member of the organization.

Shawn Steel, the attorney representing the college Republicans, who is also a past chairman of the California Republican Party, called the professor’s rant “alarming,” “irrational,” even “scare-mongering,” The Orange County Register reported.

“She’s using her power as a teacher who gives grades, with a captive audience, to basically scare and shame students,” said Steel, who filed a complaint regarding the instructor on Nov. 30.

“This faculty member is known for her open and engaging ways in class, open to all sides of the issues,” Rob Schneiderman, the union’s president, told the Register. “It’s unfortunate that this student chose to engage in an open dialogue, which she encourages.”

Neither the professor nor the union responded to requests for comment by FoxNews.com.

This professor reportedly is in her 30th year at the school.
