On Tuesday, a 35-year-old woman from the Houston area and her 31-year-olf boyfriend have been taken into custody as they were both charged in connection to the death of an 8-year-old boy. The said child’s skeletal remains have been found inside an apartment on Sunday.

Gloria Williams, who has been identified as the child’s mother, has been charged with injury to a child by omission. She also was charged with tampering with a human corpse. On the other hand, Williams’ boyfriend, Brian Coulter, has been charged with murder, per a FOX 26 of Houston report.

The two have since been released after the initial round of questioning. Other than the 8-year-old, other boys aged 7,10, and 50 have also been abandoned inside the same apartment

According to the county medical examiner’s office, the dead child was a victim of several blunt-force injuries.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez told reporters that the children had been unsupervised for “an extended period of time,” but he did not specify how long. He also mentioned that it seemed they had food at the time but the two surviving children seemed to suffer from malnourishment and physical harm when authorities discovered them.

According to a neighbor, other people living in the apartment complex had helped in providing the boys with food, per a KTRK-TV of Houston report.

The investigation to this continues, headed by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, per FOX 26’s report.
