After some migrants who arrived in Washington DC reportedly planned to eventually move to Miami, DeSantis issued a statement. The Republican governor warned them not to proceed with their plan.

“To those who have entered the country illegally, fair warning: do not come to Florida. Life will not be easy for you, because we are obligated to uphold the immigration laws of this country,” he said.

DeSantis insisted that they will enforce immigration laws “even if our federal government and other states won’t.”

When interviewed by major media outlets upon their arrival in DC, many passengers from the migrant bus shared their plans.

Depending on the media outlet that interviewed the migrants, at least one and as many as 11 migrant bus passengers said they want to go to Miami

Migrant Bus Dispatched By Abbott

Earlier, Texas governor Greg Abbott dispatched the migrant bus as part of a Republican migrant strategy. The party opposes the Biden government’s move to rescind a Trump-era border policy.

Title 42 prevents undocumented migrants from entering the US on fears of COVID infection.

In a statement Wednesday, Abbott explained why they dispatched the migrant bus. He said this helps bring the migrants closer to the group that allowed them to enter the US in the first place.

“The Biden Administration will be able to more immediately meet the needs of the people they are allowing to cross our border,” Abbott said. The Texas governor also added that another busload is on the way.

Response to Biden Administration Ending Title 42

Title 42 is a policy introduced during the term of former President Donald Trump. He instituted the health policy in the spring of 2020 to prevent the spread of COVID.

Border officials will turn away migrants crossing the border for health and safety reasons. At the time, little was known about COVID and its impact.

Earlier this month, however, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that the Biden administration will terminate TItle 42.

The migrant bus dropped off aliens from Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua between Union Station and the Capitol.

According to Abbott's office, this is part of his “response to the Biden Administration’s decision to end Title 42 expulsions”.

The health order prevented more than 1.7 million attempts by immigrants to cross the border during the pandemic. DHS officials are warning of another potential surge of 170,000 migrants once Title 42 ceases.

Abbot Said Texas Shouldn’t Bear The Burden of Biden’s Immigration Policies

In justifying his deployment of a migrant bus to transfer undocumented aliens to Washington DC, Abbott said it’s for Texas. The governor said that Texas shouldn’t “bear the burden” of the Biden administration’s failure to secure the border.

Abbott, who is running for reelection this November, earlier directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to charter buses. These vehicles will pick up migrants from the border towns and transport them to Washington DC.

won’t solve the problem but will make more people aware of what is happening —

It’s time to finish the wall Trump started!

  • Huapakechi says:

Put up a wall around washington d.c. and dump every illegal that we catch in there with the politicians. I don’t doubt they’ll like having to live with ’em as much as we don’t like to live with ’em.

  • ALFRED L. LANDRY says:

Frankly they should have been stopped when they first started crossing . The only way to stop them is finish building the wall and put an electric fence around it the way we do to keep livstock in the pastures .Apparently the Biden administration is looking for votes that is why they are letting them come in . To me there is enough RIFF-RAFF in this country without bringing in more .

  • Texas Heart Breaker says:

THE ONLY WAY THIS WILL WORK. IS IF ABBOTT FILLS 40 OR 50 BUSES WITH ILLEGALS AND TAKE THEM TO WASHINGTON ALL AT THE SAME TIME IN A CARAVAN. OTHERWISE ALL HE IS DOING IS TO HELP BIDEN RELOCATE A BUNCH OF ILLEGALS INTO THE U.S.
DROP THEM AT THE FRONT GATE OF THE WHITE HOUSE. TELL THEM TO CAMP OUT THERE. THAT “JOE THE HO BIDEN” WILL TAKE CARE OF THEM.

  • Gloria says:

I say hat off to the governor of Texas and to Our Own governor in Florida!! The ILLEGALS BELONG BACK WHERE THEY CAME FROM! AND BIDEN SHOULD HAVE THEM SITTING ON HIS FRONT STEPS TO SHOW HOW STUPID HE HAS BEEN WITH THIS OPEN DOOR POLICY!!!

  • Eric says:

Once Abbott has ramped up to 10 buses a day, then and only then will you get their attention. Besides, aren’t all the legislatures on spring break. Send the migrants to their home towns.

  • Sam says:

I have a truck and I drive around offering them a lift to the police dept and the local city council buildings where we are. If they go, I offer them $20 to stay and tell them there will be more. Our police chief had ordered a no arrest directive against criminals, homeless, etc.

  • Flower says:

Yes I do think the best thing to do is bus all of them to the white house lawn, Biden wanted them here he and Plossi can take care of them. Americans should not have our taxes raised to support them

  • Sam says:

Why not have put the guard on the border in the first place. Theater.

  • Mary says:

Any other country in the world besides the United States where people can walk in illegally, not be shot on sight or imprisoned, broke, and live happily ever after? I’d like to know.
