Constitutional Carry Legislation Passes First Round of Votes in Nebraska Legislature

Constitutional carry legislation was approved by the Nebraska legislature on Friday by a vote of 36-12-1, according to the NRA-ILA.

Legislative Bill 77, the constitutional carry law, must still prevail in two more voting sessions before being forwarded to Governor Jim Pillen's (R) desk.

Pillen has already promised to sign it if it does reach his desk.

Constitutional carry legislation was approved by the South Carolina House on February 23, 2023, and the South Carolina Senate must now take it into consideration.

In a race between South Carolina and Florida to become the 26th constitutional carry state in the Union, Breitbart News reported on February 2 that South Carolina state Rep. Bobby Cox (R) had sponsored the constitutional carry legislation.

Now that Nebraska is now vying to become the 26th constitutional carry state, the arena has expanded.

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming are among the 25 states that already have a constitutional carry framework.
