Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley has called on Republicans to treat Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota in a tougher way.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmax, the former U.N. ambassador talked about Omar’s recent anti-Semitic statements. Haley said Republicans have not been tough enough in condemning the Minnesota representative for her anti-American and anti-Jewish statements.
Nikki Haley said she thinks Republicans are “way too nice” during the interview. They said if the tables were turned, Democrats won’t show a Republican any mercy. She also stated that it’s not okay that they were only “standing on the sidelines.”
The former U.N. ambassador then said that they need to call it out for what it is, which is that based on Omar’s statements, the representative resents both Jewish people and America. Haley then took note that Omar continues to show this constantly. She said Omar does similar things that she described as uncalled for. Haley then noted that if another person has done it, that person will have to face the repercussions of her actions. She also said she doesn’t know why the Democratic party still supports the Minnesota representative.
Haley then stated that, if the Democratic Party doesn’t condemn or criticize her regarding her anti-Semitic and anti-America statements, this means “they agree with her.”
The former U.N. ambassador then urged people to call out this behavior. Haley also clarified that not only should they call out Omar, but also all the Democrats as well as the Biden press office, both of which still defend the representative. It also includes all the committees that allow her to be a member.
