Obama Chose Cuban Food And Dancing Over Brussels

52 seconds… 52 seconds is how long President Barack Obama spent talking about the heinous attacks on Brussels. 52 seconds was all that at least 36 dead and hundreds injured, including Americans, warranted. 52 seconds was all Obama could spare before he went back to talking about baseball and Cuban food.

“Please indulge me… I want to talk about the terrorist attacks in Belgium.” That was how Mr. Obama started his speech on Tuesday. Please Indulge me… Most presidents would cancel their trip altogether. They would return home and coordinate aid, search and rescue, intel gathering, calling American families of the injured and foreign heads of states. But not Obama, he instead talked about his love for empanadas and dancing. After all, why cut a vacation to Cuba short over a few dead Belgians.

If this had happened on American soil, we would expect more than 52 seconds from our allies. We would expect them to leave their vacations and join us in our grief and search for justice. I hope that if something like this were to fall on American soil, that Obama might give us a full minute of his time. That seems to be too much to ask for. I fear that Obama won't be concerned with ISIS Until they bomb a beautiful beach or a luxury golf course. Only then will he grieve and rush to the scene of the attack.
