President Trump Defends His Golf Course Trips: “My Exercise Is Playing”
President Trump tweeted about his golf course outings on Sunday, saying he plays “VERY fast” and it’s his “exercise.”
“I know many in business and politics that work out endlessly, in some cases to a point of exhaustion. It is their number one passion in life, but nobody complains,” he tweeted.
“My ‘exercise’ is playing, almost never during the week, a quick round of golf. Obama played more and much longer rounds, no problem,” he continued. “When I play, Fake News CNN, and others, park themselves anywhere they can to get a picture, then scream ‘President Trump is playing golf.’ Actually, I play VERY fast, get a lot of work done on the golf course, and also get a ‘tiny’ bit of exercise. Not bad!”

Fox News reported that Trump’s tweet “comes after he visited his Trump National Golf Club in Northern Virginia on Saturday for a round.” His golf outing follows a canceled campaign rally in New Hampshire.
That trip was his 275th visit to a golf club as president.
In 2016, Trump, who was a candidate, attacked President Obama, saying: “Because I’m going to be working for you, I’m not going to have time to go play golf.”
Obama played a total of 333 rounds of golf during his eight years in office. Fox News reported that he “had visited a golf course 98 times through the same time in his presidency as Trump.”
