Republicans in the House of Representatives criticized Vice President Kamala Harris as she has failed to visit the country’s southern border despite being assigned a key role in the migrant crisis by President Joe Biden. GOP representatives even put her face on a milk carton, showing that she has been missing from the border.

House Minority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) emphasized the need for the vice president to visit the border. She needs to see for herself the consequences that have come as a result of the Biden administration’s new policies. One such consequence includes federal facilities becoming overwhelmed with the surge of unaccompanied migrant minors entering the country.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Scalise said that if Harris is the country’s vice president and Biden gave her such a role, she needs to go to the border and see the situation herself. When she does, Scalise said it would be possible for her to encourage the president to reverse his failed policies.
On Wednesday, Harris announced her plan to visit Mexico and Guatemala. Reporters asked her during a Northern Triangle security roundtable whether she plans on visiting the border itself. However, the vice president did not answer this directly. Instead, she told them that her job focuses on finding the root causes of the immigration problem, and addressing it.
