Dustin Diamond, the actor who played Screech Powers on “Saved By the Bell,” has passed away at 44.

In January, Diamond was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell carcinoma. His girlfriend was by his side when he succumbed to the illness.

His agent, Roger Paul said that in three weeks, it rapidly spread throughout his body. He added they are grateful that Diamond did not have to “lie submerged in pain.”

Diamond Was “Scared But Hopeful”

According to Fox News, Diamond’s team said that the actor was “undergoing testing” in an area they can’t reveal since they fear the paparazzi will target him. Additionally, as per TMZ, Diamond was admitted to the hospital after feeling aches and pains.

During his fight, the actor remained “scared but hopeful” that he can win his battle, according to one of Diamond’s team members.
