Oklahoma Guns For Second Amendment Sanctuary Status
Oklahoma State Senator Warren Hamilton filed Senate Bill 631, which aimed to make Oklahoma a Second Amendment Sanctuary State. This means the bill will prevent any future legislation by the federal government from infringing on the Second Amendment rights of Oklahomans.

Second Amendment Sanctuary Act
Under the Second Amendment Sanctuary State Act, the preemption would include several federal laws. One is the National Firearms Act of 1934, which required the registration of all firearms and imposed a tax on the making and transfer of firearms. Also, the act preempts the Gun Control Act of 1968, which imposed stricter licensing and regulations on the firearms industry. Also, it created new categories of firearms offenses. In addition, the act prohibited the sale of firearms and ammunition to felons.
“SB 631 states that the gun laws as they exist today are as restrictive as they’re ever going to be and that they cannot be added to. No governmental agency has the Constitutional authority to restrict magazines, ammunition, modern sporting rifles, or AR pistols,” said Hamilton. In addition, he said the bill makes it definitive. “This bill is simply a red line that clearly defines the limits of governmental authority regarding our unalienable, God-given, blood-bought, constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms,” he added.
On the Senate Floor
Hamilton, a gun advocate, is a member of several Second Amendment advocacy groups over the years. In fact, he is an active member of the National Rifle Association, the Gun Owners of America, the Oklahoma Second Amendment Association, and Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO).
After clearing the Senate Public Safety Committee, HB 631 now heads to the Senate floor for consideration. Once it receives approval from the Senate and signed into law, it will go into effect immediately. Meanwhile, other states also passed similar legislation. For example, Arkansas, Ohio, and South Carolina state legislatures are also passing sanctuary bills.
Support From 12 Counties
In addition, SB 631 received support from sheriffs of at least 12 counties in Oklahoma. Sheriff Larry Lane has declared Sequoyah County to be a Second Amendment sanctuary, a symbolic gesture already protected by the Constitution.
In particular, Sheriff Larry Lane recently declared Sequoyah County as a Second Amendment sanctuary. In a memo sent to Sequoyah County residents last January, Sheriff Lane said he aims to protect the citizens without infringing on their rights to possess firearms. Meanwhile, Sequoyah joins other counties that are Second Amendment sanctuaries in Oklahoma. These at least 37 other counties in the state.
Dillion’s Rule State
Oklahoma is a Dillion's Rule State, which means local governments are limited to powers expressly granted to them by the state legislature. Most firearm regulations are drafted and enacted by the Oklahoma statehouse. However, most experts see the move as symbolic. The Second Amendment of the Constitution already protects citizens' right to bear arms.
In May of last year, Oklahoma became the first state to enact an anti-red flag law. Red flag laws allow for the petition to order the temporary removal of firearms from persons who present a danger.

I live in Colorado in an already defined sanctuary county. What these gun grabbers fail to grasp is they only have a voice because of the first amendment. The second amendment is what protects the first. There is no such thing as a gun violence epidemic…gun violence doesn’t exist. You either have acts of violence committed by a living being or you don’t. It’s a matter of choice which is something an inanimate object cannot do. Plus an epidemic generally covers issues of health, which doesn’t cover a criminal using a weapon.
Sadly I believe that it boils down to an issue aside from gun control. As gun restrictions would make millions of felons overnight. The justice system and the correctional industry stand to profit unbelievably from a scheme such as this. We already have the largest prison population in the world, there are some 10 or more prison facilities in my county alone. Anyway I am sure everyone can see where I’m headed with this. Think about it; it’s not at all far fetched. That’s why gun laws restrict the law abiding and criminals are penalized less and less. Keep that revolving door moving. In and out and back in again, over and over…it’s huge profits. From the prices charged for phone calls to the prices charged for hygeine and commissary of the inmates it’s huge. I bet it rivals the pharmaceutical companies

There is a reason that they are going after rifles owned by citizens rather than the handguns that are used by criminals.
I also live in NJ. Murphy has to get off his butt and set an example for a change. NJ has not one law that protects much of anything. We have a do nothing government. Not taking any gun from me. And if I see a poor dog suffocating to death in an overheated car, I am breaking the glass and save it, no matter that NJ’s law calls it “ unlawful entry” and I would be in trouble. Animal control officers can not do their jobs the way it should be, so many restrictions are placed on them that can not perform what they are professionally trained for. We have a friend who quit because he wanted to investigate a tragic death of a dog. Authorities would not let him proceed. So did it on his own time, solved the crime and justice was served. A great guy. And our townships loss of a dedicated officer for animals. Murphy? Wake up. Get out of your mansion and see what is really going on in your state or don’t you care? Doing a lousy job of handling the Covid vaccines also. One site only. Miles away. Other few sites we are supposed to have have none. Not taking appointments. Our physicians should have it as well as drug pharmacies. And everyone get the vaccine at same time, not these stupid phases. No controlling it this way. Florida is a Gun friendly state so it should also become a Gun Sanctuary state too!

I live in the state of Hawaii. Wish they would make it a 2nd ammendment state. I don’t know if it would ever happen because Hawaii is considered a democratic state. We do a lot of axis deer hunting. There are a lot of residents who are pro guns and is willing to fight for our second ammendment rights.
Usually I am laughing at AFV this time in the evening. Tonight I am laughing at the people that elected Joe. I can’t believe they bought his BS.
