South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem: “Back in 2000, Al Gore Was Given His Day in Court. We Should Give President Trump His Day in Court”
According to South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, the results of the presidential elections are “premature.”
She said this to ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos before talking about her concerns “over possible voter fraud during an interview about working with President-elect Joe Biden,” reported The Daily Mail.
The article explained that as results from key swing states came in, Trump's campaign team expressed claims of voter fraud.
“A Premature Conversation”
Stephanopoulos asked Noem about working with Biden to fight the surge of COVID-19 cases in South Dakota. “This is a premature conversation because we have not finished counting votes,” Noem said.
“Election Day needs to be fair, honest and transparent, and we need to be sure that we had an honest election before we decide who gets to be in the White House the next four years,” Noem continued.
When asked by Stephanopoulos if she has “any evidence at all of widespread fraud,” Noem answered, “People have signed legal documents, affidavits, stating that they saw illegal activities.”
“I don't know how widespread it is. I don't know if it will change the outcome of the election. But why is everybody so scared just to have a fair election and find out?”
Noem also repeatedly referred to the 2000 election between George W. Bush and Al Gore.
“Why would we not afford the 70.6 million Americans that voted for President Trump the same consideration?” asked Noem.
Fox News explained that the consideration given to former vice president Al Gore in the 2000 election resulted in a Supreme Court decision and George W. Bush’s win.
“What I think is going on here, George, is that this is all premature. This is a premature conversation because we have not finished counting votes,” Noem said. “There are states that have not been called, and back in 2000, Al Gore was given his day in court. We should give President Trump his day in court.”
