Stand For The Anthem OR Get Out!

Published

Outspoken basketball dad and businessman LaVar Ball had a strong message for NFL players who disapprove of the league's new national anthem policy.

The NFL announced in May that it has adopted a policy of issuing fines to teams and league personnel who do not “stand and show respect for the flag and the anthem.”

The league will allow players to stay in the locker room during the anthem, but teams will be fined if their players kneel on the field.

The policy comes in wake of controversial protests that were started by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

TMZ caught up with Ball, who said he thinks the NFL went too far with the new rule while acknowledging that a private company has a right to create and enforce its own policies.

“It's their league. If you don't want to do it, get out their league,” Ball said.

What do you think? Is he right or should a player be able to kneel during the anthem? Let us know in the comments below.

They would get more publicity for their cause if they would kneel on a dark highway after the game. Kneeling is kneeling and the place is unimportant.

The workplace is not an appropriate place for demonstrations of your personal beliefs. NFL players are not exempt from workplace rules or appropriate punishments for violations. Everyone has a right to their opinion outside the workplace and should be allowed to demonstrate as they desire. This should apply to Rosanne, NFL players and everyone else.
