Texas Police Officer Killer Sentenced to Death
A Texas jury has decided that the convicted killer of Richardson police Officer David Sherrard should be sentenced to death. 28-year-old Brandon McCall was “convicted of capital murder last week in the February 2018 shooting death of Sherrard, who had responded to a call about gunfire at an apartment where McCall was staying,” reported Fox News.
Fox News added that the shootings were part of an hours-long standoff in Richardson. During several gunfire exchanges, 37-year-old Sherrard was shot in the neck and died at a hospital hours later.
Following the jury’s decision for McCall, the courtroom was filled with hugs and tears among the officer’s family, friends, and fellow police officers.

McCall’s roommate, 30-year-old Rene Gamez, was also fatally shot. Gamez’s family was also in attendance in the courtroom. According to Dallas News, McCall was led out of the courtroom but was later brought back to hear impact statements from the families.
“You didn’t do something great by ambushing a police officer,” said Sherrard’s widow, Nicole Sherrard. “You got a lucky shot.”
“You took a piece of my family,” Emily Sherrard, the officer’s daughter, told the killer. “But we’re Sherrards, and my dad proved that name means crazy strength.”
The written statement of Judy Loera, Gamez’s mother, was read by someone else after the mother collapsed. “I am not the same person anymore since I lost my baby boy,” said the statement.
“Your cowardly ambush of David Sherrard and the other officers that went into that apartment was the most despicable act that I can ever, ever think of,” Richardson police Chief Jimmy Spivey said.
According to Fox News, it was unclear if a date had been scheduled for McCall’s execution.

Prayers for the Sherrard Family. So sad when people have to kill each other. some people shouldn’t have a gun. Many thanks to the people in Blue for all you do.
Kill an LEO and be put to death swiftly. It is your choice think wisely.
Death was the only verdict, now how swiftly will the sentence be carried out. Should be no more than 30 days.
Any time a police officer is killed, all involved should be on death row. No if’s, and or butts. We won’t be able to stop this BS until it becomes clear that anyone that shoots a cop will be put to death. Our elected officials need to step up!!!
