Trump Recruits Tyson To K.O. GOP

- Trump seems to have a number of A-List celebrity friends that may be attending the GOP Convention next month.
- Among them are Mike Tyson, coach Bobby Knight, and coach Mike Ditka.
- It hasn't been said what the role of the celebrities will be yet whether they will be speaking or just attending.
Donald Trump, Mike Tyson, and Bobby Knight walk into the GOP Convention. No punchline needed for that joke.
The GOP Convention is right around the corner and it has everyone riveted with anticipation. Including Trump. Donald Trump seems to be preparing for an amazing night and, of course, he is providing the celebrities.
So far nothing has been guaranteed, but a few names from the top of Trump's list have managed to leak out to the public. Among the names are the former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, the legendary Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka, the former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight and the NASCAR chief Brian France.
With an A-List turn out like that, who wouldn't want to go?
So far, no word has been heard on what role these celebrity friends of Trump will be playing. Whether they will be speaking to the audience, to the cameras, or just enjoying the wonderful atmosphere that will be surrounding the GOP Convention. Either way, the turnout is bound to be thrilling.
Knight and Tyson have both publicly put their two cents behind the Trump campaign. Knight actually endorsed Trump in April and said that he is the “most prepared man in history” to be President. Tyson didn't go as far as Knight did, but he did defend Trump when he announced his Muslim ban concept last year.
With heavyweight endorsements like that, how could you not boast about it? That's exactly what Trump did. After Tyson came forward and defended Trump's campaign, Trump said, “You know, all the tough guys endorse me. I like that.”
This, of course, got Trump in the hot seat. The fact that Tyson has served three prison sentences in Indiana after being convicted of raping a beauty pageant contestant didn't make him a good ally in the public's eye.
Surrounding the GOP Convention will be a number of musical performances, not in the same venue, but in the ones surrounding it. The Beach Boys, Journey, Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, and The Band Perry, are all expected to perform.
If the celebrities, the music, and the politics aren't enough to get you excited about the GOP Convention, the unveiling of the stage yesterday will be the frosting on the cake. A grand set with giant white curving staircases and a digital screen made up of more than 600 LED panels, what else could you expect for the GOP Convention?
