Two African American Women Pay for Deputy’s Breakfast: “BLM But So Does Yours”
Two women paid for the breakfast of a Middle Tennessee deputy on Tuesday morning.
According to Sumner County Patrol Deputy Jody McDowell, only a few minutes after receiving his meal at Cracker Barrel, his waitress said, “I was told to give this to you” and gave him a note. The note reads: “BLM But so does yours! Thank you for your service. Breakfast paid.”
Fox News reported that the deputy said that two African American women “who were sitting in the dining area got up to leave, but wanted to stop over at his table and thanked him for his service before they headed back to Baltimore.”
However, The Daily Mail reported that he did not get to meet the women since they left the restaurant before the waitress handed him the piece of paper.

McDowell took a photo of the note and posted it on Facebook. “I want to thank the two sweet black ladies who paid for my breakfast this morning. While waiting for a transport to be completed, I decided to have breakfast at a Cracker Barrel near the Nashville airport. I received this note from them,” he wrote.
McDowell’s post then received many positive reactions.
“THIS is how America should be. What a nice gesture. Folks need to see more things like this, thanks for sharing!” one wrote.
“It is the beautiful caring hearts inside, not the color of all of our skins. That was so kind and caring of them,” said another.
