Two Delaware women have been indicted on hate crimes for confronting Trump supporters, including a 7-year-old boy and his mother, outside the Democratic National Convention.

Olivia Winslow and Camryn Amy, both 21, were indicted by a New Castle County grand jury on charges of felony charges of robbery, conspiracy and hate crimes and a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child, the Delaware News Journal reported Tuesday. Amy also was indicted on misdemeanor charges of assaulting a man who tried to retrieve the hat, attempting to assault the boy’s mother and offensive touching of the boy.

“Violence in any form is unacceptable, but harming another person — let alone a child — because of the expression of their views betrays the principles on which our country was founded,” Delaware Attorney General Kathleen Jennings said in a statement.

“Free speech, free assembly, and free expression are sacred, no matter whether we agree with the opinions expressed, and especially when we don’t.”

A viral video showed Winslow and Amy damaging signs that belonged to a group of Trump supporters protesting former Vice President Joe Biden, who would accept the Democratic nomination for president just a few steps away that night. At one point, a young boy can be seen chasing the two after they picked a red “Make America Great Again” hat up off the ground.

“That’s somebody else’s hat,” he says.

Amy also seemingly punched a man who tried to get the hat back later in the video.
