Amazon-owned company Zappos has launched the “Single and Different Size Shoes Test” on Tuesday. The new program will allow shoppers to buy single shoes or a pair of shoes in two different sizes online.

According to Zappos, shoppers have been asking for the new options for years. However, the requests grew stronger in 2017 when it launched its Zappos Adaptive site.

A press release says the program is launching with a few brands such as Nike, BILLY Footwear, Converse, Stride Rite, PLAE, and New Balance.

“The Single and Different Size Shoes Test Program is very close to our hearts – we wanted our community to know that we heard them, and continue to listen and innovate based on their needs and wants,” said Dana Zumbo, Business Development Manager of Zappos Adaptive.

“Customer service is our number one goal, and we're endlessly committed to ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and confident in their own shoe or shoes,” Zumbo then added.

The program will start with around 80 styles and colors.

“Launching as a ‘test’, the Single and Different Size Shoes Test Program is initially starting with a small number of brands and styles (with a full range of size and width options). Zappos Adaptive hopes to grow its brand partners as the program continues to develop, expanding the styles and colors available,” the press release also.

The website did not specify how long the test would run. The company will continue to sell pairs of shoes in the same size on its website.
