Kamala Harris is sworn in as the Vice President of the United States of America.
She is the first woman, first African American, and first Asian American to hold the office.
She is the first graduate of a historical Black college to become Vice President. Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the first woman of color to serve on the Supreme Court, administered the oath for Vice President Kamala Harris.
The Ceremony
At the beginning of the ceremony, Senator Amy Klobuchar said, “When she takes the oath of office, little girls and boys across the world will know that anything and everything is possible.
