Anti-American College Bans American Flag

A Massachusetts college has decided to remove an American flag amid struggles to stop “hate-based violence” that escalated since President-elect Donald Trump’s victory. The flag was initially flown at half-staff, but that only triggered more disputes.
From now on, Hampshire College will not be flying American or any other flags, following the school president Jonathan Lash’s decision.
After the November 8 election, the college has been lowering its American flag to half-staff to “acknowledge the grief and pain experienced by so many” as well as “to enable the full complexity of voices and experiences to be heard.” After Trump’s victory, some on campus have been calling the flag a symbol of racism and hatred.
“Some months ago, the Hampshire College Board of Trustees adopted a policy of periodically flying the flag at half-staff to mourn deaths from violence around the world. Earlier this week, in the current environment of escalating hate-based violence, we made the decision to fly Hampshire’s US flag at half-staff for a time while the community delved deeper into the meaning of the flag and its presence on our campus,” Lash said in an email to students.

However, it did not help the school officials to find a balance, instead sparking even harsher divides.
The half-staff flag that appeared offensive to veterans and students from military families was burned down on Veterans’ Day, November 11.
It was replaced and flown again at half-staff until Friday, when Lash decided that it would be better to get rid of the flag on the campus all together.
He specifically hopes that this will help the campus community “to instead focus our efforts on addressing racist, misogynistic, Islamophobic, anti-immigrant, anti-Semitic, and anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and behaviors.”
“Some have perceived the action of lowering the flag as a commentary on the results of the presidential election — this, unequivocally, was not our intent,” Lash said, according to the Boston Globe.

The officers and faculty should all be fired for approving and teaching such disrespect to our flag. I have traveled half the world; and, there is no greater country than the U.S. The self-described down trodden should get there heads out their back-side and learn that they do not have the right to be thugs and thieves.
It is time to stop pandering to the people that didn’t vote for Trump and show them that we are still a solid country and that he won the election and is the President-elect. If Hillary is prosecuted, as she should be, they will be wondering how they became victims of her subterfuge.
If they cannot be an American and respect our flag they need to move to another country.
They are a bunch of coddled children with such liberal teachings. I would not pay the money to send my children to that college. They need to get over themselves. A lot of people have felt disappointed, etc for the last 8 years but have acted like a mature adult and loyal American.
They should listen to the speech Obama made when running for his first term. It was identical to what Trump said about our borders etc. You cannot talk to these people, they are close minded. Their motto was tolerance, when they go low we go high. I don’t see any of it that. I only see hate and anger on their part. They will not listen to reason. This country has allowed too much rioting, destruction, and blocking of streets, etc. under the so called 1st amendment especially burning the AMERICAN FLAG. When emergency vehicles are blocked and WORKING people are inconvenienced they have over stepped their rights and infringed on others rights. They are disrespectful to veterans that fought for this country’s freedom. I think the news should ignore them. Parents need to cut off their income stream and let them live in the real world.
The flag is the symbol of America and anyone who don’t like it don’t deserve to be schooled.
These students should be called upon by the FBI to see what should be done with them. Maybe Deport them to a place of their choice or Iran.
I am Veteran and as far as I am concerned the whole bunch of them should go to a country that hates America. Those that ban the flag and burn the flag should be deported. They have no respect for those that have fought and or died for their freedom. Shame on them.
Obummer and his kind (Hillary) have not condemned any violence done by BLM and others, making the bums bolder and more ready to continue their illegal violence. We should all send them letters condemning this lack of action, many millions of us. They still wouldn’t get the message, because they don’t care about this country, but at least everyone would know that the majority thinks these scum should be locked up, rioters and Administration!
