On Friday, President Joe Biden stumbled a couple of times and fell as he went up the stairs to Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews.

Biden was quickly climbing the steps to the aircraft when he appeared to trip. He attempted to recover but then he tripped again. According to a reporter in the pool that followed the president, it was windy at Joint Base Andrews
After his fall, the White House said that the president is “doing 100% fine.”

From one angle that was captured, it looked like Biden’s torso went out of view when he tripped a second time. However, his hand is still visible as it held onto the railing of the stairs. He then stood up and made it the rest of the way up the stairs to the aircraft.

In another angle, it revealed Biden down on his knee for a few seconds. He got up, paused for a moment with his hand holding the railing, and rubbed his knee.

After this incident, White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield revealed the president’s condition. She said that Biden is fine and that he didn’t even need medical attention from the team on standby.

Historically, several top American leaders also struggled while using the stairs to board planes that carry them around and that should keep them safe.
In 2020, former Vice President Mike Pence also struggled while boarding Air Force 2. In 2015, former President Barack Obama almost fell down the stairs to Air Force One while he was getting off the plane.

Former President Gerald Ford almost fell headfirst in 1975. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump also seemed to have almost tripped down a ramp at West Point Military Academy.
