Biden’s Brother Faces Allegations of Possible Fraud, Used Family Name to Advance Business Interests

There has been a report that reveals allegations of possible fraud involving former Vice President Joe Biden’s brother James “in the latest instance of the Democratic primary front-runner’s family members’ dealings drawing scrutiny amid his presidential bid,” reported Fox News.

There have been allegations about James Biden’s business with medical companies that say he engaged in fraud and traded on his brother Joe’s name by claiming that his brother was interested in the venture and the family name could provide opportunities.

Politico reported that Tom Pritchard, a former Americore executive familiar with the business's finances, said that James Biden’s arrival exacerbated Americore’s financial problems. “It was all smoke and mirrors,” Pritchard said.

James Biden reportedly persuaded Americore that he could use his political clout to deliver an influx of cash in the form of an investment from the Middle East. Fox News reported that he even “convinced the company to take on financial burdens including a six-figure loan to James that he has yet to repay.”

Politico added that Americore found itself “increasingly hamstrung by high-interest loans,” adding that they cannot pay employees and vendors. The business is now in bankruptcy court, and federal authorities are circling. This bankruptcy court comes after financial woes that, Pritchard said, James Biden only made worse.

Fox News reported that James Biden, Americore and Americore founder Grant White are among those now facing a lawsuit from medical companies in Tennessee federal court accusing them of fraud over alleged promises made.

According to a Biden campaign official, Joe Biden never discussed Americore with his brother or expressed support for the business.
