Silicon Valley made a massive effort to suppress information damaging to Democratic candidate Joe Biden leading up to the election. Now, Big Tech is working overtime to silence a conservative backlash.
Social media platforms are actively suppressing any content mentioning the rampant claims of voter fraud permeating throughout the country. Part of the effort also includes censoring right-leaning groups from organizing protests against election impropriety.
The latest pushback against conservative views comes in the form of a “Stop the Steal” ban. It’s a pro-Trump group that was organizing protests against official misconduct during the election. Last week, Facebook banned the 350,000-member group from its platform for “falsely claiming” that Democrats stole the election from Republicans.
Big Tech Censorship Troubles
Over the weekend, “Stop the Steal” ran into more Big Tech censorship when it tried to organize an event in D.C. Event organizer firm Eventbrite removed the march from its platforms and emailed everyone who RSVP’d telling them the event was canceled. “Stop the Steal” was also locked out of its email marketing platform, Mail Chimp, after the Facebook ban.
Facebook also claimed that members of the group were encouraging violence and undermining confidence in the democratic process. However, it’s unclear to what extent, if any, that claim is true. It seems unusual that Facebook, which allows several ANTIFA groups that actively advocate government overthrow on its platform, would take such a drastic move against a group of peacefully organized citizens utilizing their first amendment rights to discuss the countless instances of voter fraud in the 2020 election.
“In line with the exceptional measures that we are taking during this period of heightened tension, we have removed the Group ‘Stop the Steal,’ which was creating real-world events,” Facebook said in a statement. “The group was organized around the delegitimization of the election process, and we saw worrying calls for violence from some members of the group.”
Fellow Conservatives: [Yes or No] Are Biden's Socialist Policies BAD for America?
Facebook’s reason doesn’t sit well with many. There’s substantial reason to suspect the election process was illegitimate, and citizens have every right to question their government. Facebook’s unprecedented silencing of this group seems to be an escalation in Big Tech’s assault on conservative views.
Technocrats Protect Biden
Prior to the election, Big Tech waged a silent war to protect candidate Joe Biden. However, now that the election is over in their eyes, the technocrats in Silicon Valley don’t see any reason to hide their contempt for the right any longer. Banning the “Stop the Steal” group was an open assault on American values.
However, it’s a small incursion considering how aggressive social media platforms were leading up to the election. Both Twitter and Facebook suppressed a blockbuster report on the Biden family’s corruption in China. There’s also evidence that Google manipulated its appearance in search results. Both platforms repeatedly echoed claims of “Russian misinformation,” which has become the left’s go-to excuse for any unfavorable claims against its frontman. However, to this day, no evidence has emerged that indicates the Biden emails were anything less than 100% authentic.
However, the media and Big Tech suppressed the story with all the fury of a Beijing propaganda minister. They flooded the airwaves with a deluge of propaganda and biased coverage falsely undermining the story. That was when it became clear that the media and Big Tech had put the good of the American people aside to further their own political interest.
Now, social media platforms are censoring any attempts to dispute the election. This comes despite the fact it still hasn’t been officially confirmed.
“Stop the Steal” organizer Kylie Kremer encouraged Trump supporters to keep up the fight. “We aren’t going to stop until every legal vote is counted, and every illegal ballot that’s been cast has been thrown away,” she said.
