Border Patrol Agents Rescue Four Migrants Suffering Under Extreme Arizona Heat

Agents from the Tucson Sector Border Patrol rescued four Mexican migrants who had become stranded in the Arizona desert due to the extreme heat. One of the migrants had to be airlifted to a trauma clinic in Tucson.

Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent John Modlin posted photographs from a migrant rescue in Benson, Arizona, on June 27. Authorities responded to a 911 call and discovered four Mexican migrants who were suffering from heat exhaustion.

According to Modlin, all four migrants required intensive medical attention because to their exposure to the Arizona desert's severe heat. One of the migrants, a 19-year-old girl, was airlifted to Tucson for life-saving care.

On the same day, Laredo Sector agents reacted to another life-threatening scenario involving two migrants who were separated on a property near Hebbronville, Texas.

Both migrants received life-saving medical attention from Border Patrol officials from the Hebbronville Station.

Yuma Sector officers also rescued two migrants who died of heat stroke on June 20.

From October 1, 2022 until May 31, 2023, the U.S. Almost 24,000 migrants were rescued by Border Patrol personnel. With four months left in the current fiscal year, the number of rescues has already surpassed that of FY22 and nearly quadrupled that of FY21.
