Country Music Accused Of Lack Of Diversity

****THIS IS SATIRE****

The country music world was in shock this week as black rights groups called some of it’s biggest stars to BOYCOTT the CMAs for the lack of diversity in the each category.

A group allegedly tied to Black Lives Matter, who are known for their racist values and huge chips on their shoulders, gathered up activists the black community—who only make an appearance when there is a race card to play—and called on black country music stars such as Milton Patton, Darius Rucker (from Hootie and the Blowfish fame) and Cowboy Troy to drop out of the show in a stance at the country world being “predominantly white.”

A spokesperson from the group told exactly why they want this boycott to happen. Ted “Chip” Chipperson, a 23-year-old, unemployed white college student, said, “For too long now, the country music world has gotten away with their racist actions and overly white charts, concerts and awards shows. We want that to stop. We want them to acknowledge their lack of diversity and make an even playing field for black country artists.”

When asked to explain how country music stars such as Darius Rucker, Cowboy Troy and many other black artists were selling out arena tours to 98% white crowd and winning multiple awards for their talents over the years, Chipperson told us that he’s like to see the proof of that as it “sounds like white people using their privilege in the media to give false statistics.” We sent him photographs and videos of the concerts and award shows, including speeches from each artist but we are still awaiting a response.

It was only a matter of time before the race card was played in the country music industry.  Just this week, the Oscars was hit with controversy when the more unpopular of the Smith family of actors, Jada Pickett Smith, made a video SLAMMING the awards because her, less than average of an actor husband, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, was not recognized for the instantly forgettable movie he made that no one watched. Smith—who forgot that the very industry she was calling were the very people who finance her multi-million dollar lifestyle which made her and The Fresh Prince two of the richest black people in the world—also gained support from Al Sharpton and other race-baiters to call out the awards show. This resulted in all future Oscars being forced to appease the black community and now means that any black actor who wins an award going forward will not have done it out of merit like all those before them.

In the country world, the response was less concerning. When we reached out to each of the stars named in the group’s “call to action,” they were laughing so hard, we couldn’t make out what they were saying.

It turns out that when it comes to country music, it seems that race just isn’t a thing.

Obama promised prosperity but has been the most divisive president in the history of the USA. This whole racial problem has been caused by his inaction. I was never a racist until he came into office & this Black Lives matter arose. My feeling & attitude now is that if you do not like it here in the US then pack up your bags & return to the country from which your ancestors came!

If people don’t like what they see on stage, don’t attend or watch. If you want a “black” guy, then resurrect Charlie Pride!

  • Navyman says:

Disagree because Country Music is just that ‘MUSIC”, not some cacophony of “profanities, porn, and Political Blactivism”.

  • George G. says:

    BET awards Lacks Diversity!!!

  • ludlow porch says:

The last black person who could really sing country was Charlie Pride. He learned by listening to and imitating a white dude by the name of Hank Williams, Sr. Most black people can’t really sing country. They are “screamers.” There is no screaming in country music! To be a country singer, you have to be able to sing thru your nose. Most all singers of country music are a privileged, nasal blessed, bunch of white people, with sinus problems. Blacks have large nostrils and that is a huge hindrance to singing Country !

  • harry says:

I had a country western bar in Chicago and at our jam sessions we had a black drummer and a black singer who always came were welcomed and were good and no one made racist remarks,,,all were welcomed

  • Daren Theige says:

Who cares??? I’ts Country music. I’d rather listen to an Insurance Seminar…..

  • mark eckert says:

Its all supply and demand, so there must be no demand…

  • Robert F Anderson Sr says:

I believe Country Music today has gone to far to ROCK ! Most is NOT TRUE Country !! As far as Diversity- It is OPEN to any one who wants to sing COUNTRY as far as I know? I think CERTAIN ONES are trying to OVER TAKE everything ? How about this- START getting along instead of DIVIDING “OUR “POPULATION into RACE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thomas says:

This is crazy!! there are very few minorities in the country music world!
I live Missouri and I know what a very few can ruin anything!! It must stop!

  • Martha Tucker says:

I don’t think they did it on purpose purpose. I haven’t heard of any black singers much here lately. I think that if there had been any good black singers they would have been invited.

  • Dick Philo says:

Leave it to obama? to attack anything that is truly American, and that is where all of these ‘protests’ originate. You must remember, he has only ‘one year left to fundamentally transform America.’

  • Ray Daniel says:

Being a part of Country Music is a choice, being successful in CM is the result of talent and sqaquiring a fan base. Charlie Pride is perhaps the most acclaimed CM star that is a minority. It seems most minorities choose an alternative music genre.

  • Sam Wallis says:

Give me a break!! How about if the next time the “Black Entertainment Awards” are held, white entertainers start bellyaching about the lack of diversity. I think the entertainment industry ought to have a “Binky Awards” program for the biggest crybabies.

  • richard says:

If you can sing country western it doesn’t matter if your white or black… When Charlie Pride sang country nobody complained he was black.. If your black and can sing country good, people will listen and buy your music… If you think you should be in the country music awards then sing it and see what happens……

  • Jack Sember Lewis says:

How “diverse” (in numbers) is the audience for country-western music? BE R E A L !!!

  • William says:

That’s a crock of s–t due you ever see that bunch supporting country music

  • jim sherwin says:

this is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard!! awards are based on merit–not color–there is no quoa for minorities just because they are minorities–you have to earnit!!!{hear that academy awards} it is time we stop giving in to a bunch of loud-mouthed troublemakers who want to demand that they be given what others have worked so hard for

  • Ron Bracy says:

It is just another reason to act out on their part. It is all BS.

  • Country lover says:

Yes I do miss hearing the next Black, Gay, Azerbaijani female “singer” belting out a great Johhny Cash tune. Any takers??? What great upcoming country singer has been ignored? Producers are always ready to make good money on great singers. I don’t see discriminatory facts only hyperbole and only because it’s political.

  • Martin Michaels says:

So tell me, exactly how many “Black” Country Music stars are there? I can name only three by name. And Charley Pride is pretty much retired! This gripe is rather like bitching about a lack of diversity in NASCAR or in the NHL. When Blacks start playing hockey, racing cars or singing country music instead of RAP, HipHop or R&B, perhaps they’ll be more often represented…

  • greg says:

If we’re going there, what about the lack of diversity in the NBA,NFL or even the NCAA?

  • Mark Principe says:

Really? Really??? Oh please…. why not Rock ‘N Roll or Classical music for that matter? When does this madness stop? Hit these miscreants with a large fire-hose, fire-extinguisher, or portable air-horn. Enough of their fecal matter already…

  • Ron says:

I always thought that the best were chosen not by color, but by talent. Where does the white, black issue come from? If you don’t got it you don’t sing, that’s it. Why do we have to kowtow to this issue. I think most people think this is a silly excuse for no TALENT! If you don’t have it get out of the way so we can listen to real talent and enjoy it!

  • Terry Weston says:

How many minority in Country Music anyway ? Not many !

So just shoehorn minorities into the awards because of race. To me would be like asking the National Association of Black Journalists to allow Bill O’Reilly be nominated for something. Just for the sake of this silly diversity BS !

  • William Baumgartel says:

They are only 10% of the population but they won’t be satisfied till they run things—a close look at televison confirms this!

  • Jack Bracer says:

So…………………???! If blacks are doing the way they do , with so many different things , just let ’em go. Country wll not die because of their absence. Was there ever this kind a problem when it came to the Blues, Rap. Hip Hop?? Their thing is it??! So………………..let go!

  • Mnm says:

These people should be shot for their stupidity and intent to cause more hatred between races. This has got to be the dumbest yet- grasping at anything that looks like an easy target. I can see it now with Kanye rushing the stage to blather some nonsense about somebody else should e gottn the award.
Like someone else said, someone should sue the bet awards for not representing Asians whites or Latinos in their racist ceremony just to illustrate how dumb this is.

  • Jerry Manning says:

If they would enter the field of Country Music they might be considered. However, the junk they put out is not music, nothing more than screaming and banging……….

  • Joseph Toth says:

    No black C&W singers

  • Kevin Beck says:

This is beyond ridiculous; it has now reached the point of self-caricature. If these “activists” want to complain about the lack of diversity among country music performers, then I want to complain about the lack of racial diversity at the Black Entertainment Awards show. However, I won’t complain, since I don’t even know when they hold their awards show.

When will we go back to when America was a nation that respected people for their individuality, rather than because they were part of a certain group? THAT was what made America great; not the idea that group rights are more important than individual rights.

  • Johnny Farris says:

If you sing well and play musical instruments well I will enjoy listening to your music. I don’t care about your color or race or where you live. If you want to play country music then do it. Just curious how many white people win awards percentage wise in rap or r&b? Let’s drop the whole unfriendly race card and just play and sing MUSIC.

  • Claude Church says:

You name me one black or others who plays and
sings country. There are a few “Want to Be”
out there but do not come up to the level of
    Awards.

  • darrell says:

Where is the diversity in BET Awards, NAACP awards, Miss Black America, ect, ect,

  • Mark says:

So what we are talking about here is a genre, ie Country, not Rock, Blues, Pop, Classical, etc, and definitely NOT RAP. So rather than have this continuing downward spiral into absurdity to include everyone and their brother, wouldn’t it make more sense and fair to limit who is included in nominations to the few who actually are in that category? Also please remember, just because this year someone sings a song, acts in a movie, produces something, doesn’t necessarily mean that what was even worth mentioning much the less expecting it should receive a reward! FACT CHECK not everyone deserves a reward just for participation or else the reward isn’t worth anything!!

  • george says:

This whole diversity thing is getting out of hand. Some people just want to complain because they think life should be fair. Screw them, Life is hard, you do the best you can and you don’t complain about every little thing. no one is entitled to anything. work for whatever you want to accomplish, and if you don’t get recognized work harder. These people are just CRY BABIES, PERIOD. The best thing you can do is ignore them.

  • Joe Coppinger says:

There is certainly no diversity involved with the plethora of Black Awards and Recognition programs in this country. Black USA, Black Miss America, Black History, NAACP Awards, etc. And, all one has to do is view TV to see that many, many series and specials include Black Actors in lead roles. Again–when the Affirmative Actions Program was born in the 1960s, Beginning with our Armed Forces, Black Americans excelled in all categories. We were all told this is not a “Quotas” program, although that’s exactly what it was back then, and continues to be today. Nothing wrong with acknowledging education and talent, but when “Quotas” is the guiding force behind these programs, then it’s totally wrong and eschews whatever recognition is bestowed. Too bad that left wing rabble-rousers exploit their own race to get publicity and drum up contributions for their personal agendas. All this has done since the 1960s is create a class of Americans dependent on government programs to exist. Finally… We rearely see the majority of Blacks who earned their bones the old fashion way (by hard work and self-sacrifice) our picketing, looting and crying ‘foul play’…

  • Roger says:

This is totally nonsense because there have only been a few country singers that have not been white. Their music was well taken and I enjoy listening to everyone that can sing a country song the way it should be sung.

  • erroldean says:

I don’t even know of any popular black country singers other than Charlie Pride—-am I missing some????

  • Donald Barber says:

Some people will not be happy until the whole nation is compleatly black…………!

  • JAMES says:

IF THE BLACK PEOPLE ENGAGED IN A CAREER OR A JOB THAT TOOK TRAINING..SCHOOLING…COLLEGE..THEN APPLY IT..WORK HARD AT IT…AND PRAY…ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!! IT TAKES HARD WORK AND PERSEVERANCE.

  • joyce ware says:

I think the awards are based on what the public buys and like . Not what the color of the artist’s skin is.

  • joyce ware says:

I think the awards are based on what the public buys and like . Not what the color of the artist’s skin is.

  • jim says:

country music is predominately done by white artists because a small number are black statistically they don’t necessarily will have the material needed to get nominated

  • vernon says:

What the hell, If it don’t have a black person involved in it Its races, why don’t you people get a life, this is one of the reasons blacks don’t get along with us, I don’t care,

  • Susan K Bartol says:

Beacause there are few, probably less then 1% black, Hispanic, Indian, Asian etc country singers.
