ViacomCBS has announced that it will be renaming its CBS All Access streaming service to Paramount+ in early 2021.

Paramount+ will have “five new original series from different verticals across the company,” The Verge reported. This includes “Paramount, CBS, MTV, and BET,” as per the report. ViacomCBS also plans to bring more than 30,000 additional episodes and movies. Additionally, it wants to bring these from different content houses to the streaming platform.

ViacomCBS also said it hopes to bring a “leading portfolio of broadcast, news, sports and entertainment brands” to international markets.

“Paramount is an iconic and storied brand beloved by consumers all over the world,” said Viacom President and CEO Bob Bakish in a statement. “It is synonymous with quality, integrity and world-class storytelling,” he then added.

“With Paramount+, we’re excited to establish one global streaming brand in the broad-pay segment that will draw on the sheer breadth and depth of the ViacomCBS portfolio to offer an extraordinary collection of content for everyone to enjoy,” Bakish also mentioned.

Marc DeBevoise, chief digital officer of ViacomCBS and president and CEO of ViacomCBS Digital, said the response from consumers in the early weeks of the expansion “already illustrates the tremendous opportunity ahead of us in bringing these phenomenal ViacomCBS brands together in one premium streaming home under the new Paramount+ name.”
