CNN Ratings Drop Since Trump Left Office

Left-wing media outlets such as CNN loved to criticize former President Donald Trump. This somewhat did well for their ratings. However, since Trump left office, so did many of their viewers.

News outlet CNN has been swiftly losing viewers since former President Donald Trump left office. Since January, the network has lost almost half of its viewership, as per Nielsen Media Research.

For the day after the elections (Nov. 4) up until Inauguration Day (Jan. 20) the said news outlet had an average of 2.5 million primetime viewers. However, since President Joe Biden assumed office, and until March 15, their viewership dropped to 1.6 million on primetime.

Since Trump left office the number of CNN’s primetime viewers dropped by 36%. In terms of their target demographic, the viewership drop rate was even steeper as CNN lost 47% of viewers aged 25 to 54. All in all, the network lost 44% of its total audience.

Networks like CNN liked to exaggerate Trump’s actions while he was still in office. This seemed to be a good business tactic for them as, when they did, the viewers came in. However, now that Trump’s not president anymore, they have no one to slam.

Prior to this, former Fox News Host Bill O’Reilly has predicted that anti-Trump cable networks have a high possibility of collapsing. According to him, such networks don’t have credibility and that they were only trying to destroy the Former President.
O’Reilly then remarked that now that these media outlets are forced to report the truth, “It’s over.”

The former news host then described how he thought these media outlets would cover Biden. According to him, in the eyes of these networks, whatever the president does is great. He also mentioned that Biden will likely not hold a lot of press conferences.
