Terry McAuliffe, the Governor of Virginia, has now passed a bill that will allow 200,000 convicted felons to vote in this upcoming November ballot. It seems like the Democratic governor has some tricks up his sleeves, what is the real intention of letting convicted felons vote.

Now forgive me for being straight forward but men and women who have broken the law and been convicted should not have the right to vote. In our form of government, we give you a chance. We allow you to screw up a few times. No one is perfect and everyone understand that. Yet if you are a convicted felon and you have chosen to go against the laws and regulations that have been set down by our government, why would you be granted with a choice to be a part of that government? Why would we allow people, who clearly have no respect for the government be allowed to partake in it?

The thought that is on everyone's mind, is did the governor of Virginia pass this bill to fill Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton's ballot with more voters? The race between Hillary and Bernie has been a close call throughout most of the primaries, and an extra 200,000 votes would definetly put her in the winning.

Virginia is one of 10 states that doesn't allow voting rights to be reenstated after a felony sentence is served, there is an interview process that is done with the indivudal and the government to see if they are now fit to vote. Yet, this new bill that was passed by Virginia will now allow convicts of violent crimes to partake in the voting process.

The comments have been flying like arrows that this years voting system has been rigged and manipulated, and now with a the Virginia govenor fighting to get convicted felons the right to vote, it looks like that is becoming truer and truer as these campaign trail on.

I believe that human rights are a very important thing, especially in a country that prides itself in freedom, yet there should be restrictions. After the convicted mass murdere in Norway sued the government for violating his human rights, he was awarded with video games, television, a three cell block to himself. Yet he is a convicted murderer, he brutally killed something like 77 people. He has lost his right to human rights. He took away 77 peoples rights, he took their lifes. Yet he has the gaul to complain about his human rights, that to me, is extremely hypocritical.

I remember growing up and sitting at the dinner table, if I didn't want what my mom had made for dinner, I didn't eat. It was as simple as that. If people in our society don't want to follow the rules that have been laid down, they shouldn't be allowed to participate in them. We are the role model for a lot of different countries, even now our President is flying to the UK to give his “opinion” on a vote to leave the European Union (don't even get me started on that). We need to be extremely careful with what it is we allow and don't allow.

It seems to me that each candidate in this years election period, Trump, Clinton, Cruz, Sanders, Kasich, all of them have been doing whatever it takes to get the votes they need. The election should be about who is best for the country, not who can swindle their way into more votes. I'm sure we will be seeing the same kind of tatcic coming from Sanders soon. Let's see who these 200,000 felons will vote for in November.

Once you’re a felon that’s it you just gave up your right to vote because you just proved you don’t give a damn about anything but yourself !!!

Eeeveryone has messed up in there life, but if they have been working and law abiding for10 or more years, why hold it against them for the rest of their lives. Do you have any forgiveness in your heart.

As long as we are talking one time offense, and not a physical assault/murder, then when the sentence is served, and the debt is paid in full then that should be the end of it! And no, I am not a con.

Again , this is nothing more than a trick to gain votes for the Democratic Party. Believe me they will tell these cons to registrar Democrat, and remind them of whom gave them to power to vote. When you break the law you lose certain rights, just as when you join the military you submit to an authority to give up certain rights.

Why why not. Not every ex-con is bad. Many have served their time and are not reoffenders

  • Carl Bujan says:

Felons are dishonest people and should not be allowed to vote. When they committed that crime they lost a lot of their rights.

Almost 30 years ago someone close to me, as a young person, made a stupid mistake. Not a violent crime. He was Truly “railroaded”, but he was sent entered to TEN YEARS probation and completed it without incident, went on to earn a college degree and is a well respected employee in his profession. He has gone on to become a wonderful husband, father, and a proud American citizen who is well informed about politics and so much would be proud to be a part of the voting public. He paid his “dues”, deeply regrets having a record for trusting someone he shouldn’the have trusted, but it’seems been almost 30 years and he is Not a stupid kid anymore. He is a fine , upstanding man who should be allowed to vote. In my 62 years, I really don’the know many people that are as deserving, as well versed on All the candidates, and as fine a man as this man is. He deserves to have the privilege of voting just as much, if not More than many other people in this country. I think it should be on a “case -by- case” basis, perhaps, but this man doesn’the cheat on his taxes, pays a mortgage every month, has an executive job and treats everyone with dignity and respect… something that AS FAR AS THE VOTE, has not been afforded him, after all these years. It is unfair in his case. Thank you..

As usual, you pick out the worst of the worst for your example. I know felons that did their time, came out and are a productive part of society. I much rather hang out with people that can turn their life around than with all the people that can do nothing but complain about things they have no clue about.

  • Robert george Flavin says:

What the hell lets not send them to prison anymore

  • Name says:

you know they will vote for the damnacrats to get the freebys

    It’s a disgrace
