Former President Donald Trump reportedly plans to relaunch his popular rallies next month, which will take place in two venues. This comes as his effort to politically take advantage of several crises that the Biden administration is currently Facing.
The UK’s Daily Mail reported that the former president’s team is currently choosing which two places will serve as the upcoming rallies’ venues, as per one of Trump’s advisers. Apart from the two rallies in June, a third one will also likely take place in July.
The said adviser also revealed that the former president is receiving many offers and invites in many different areas.
The two upcoming rallies will be the first ones since Trump spoke to more than 100,000 last Jan. 6 in Washington, D.C., which was also when the Capitol riot took place.
Referencing other people familiar with the planning, the Daily Mail also reported that the Trump team is planning high-profile events in New Jersey. These include a fundraiser Make America Great Again Action will stage at Trump’s Bedminster golf club.
The Perfect Time to Bring Back Trump Rallies
Citing the adviser, the UK outlet said that relaxed COVID-19 crowd restrictions partnered with the current administration’s struggles at the border, with fuel lines, and with the Middle East conflict signaled that it was the perfect time to bring back the rallies.
The former president is also reportedly considering visiting the U.S.-Mexico border amid the ongoing crisis caused by an immigrant influx. By going there, he is aiming to highlight the situation at the southern border.
As to whether Trump intends to run for the presidency in 2024, the former president has repeatedly teased the idea. However, his aides and family had mentioned that Trump won’t likely make a decision regarding this until after the 2022 midterm elections.
Although, his return to heading rallies can be considered a test as to whether he has maintained his appeal towards members of the Republican party and whether he can still draw crowds like he used to.
