The Republican Party of Florida reported on Wednesday that registered Republicans in the state now outnumber Democrats by more than 450,000.
“Florida Republicans continue to grow our voter registration edge over the ‘dead, rotten carcass’ that is the @FlaDems,” the state's GOP posted on social media.
A graph showing that there are now 454,918 more registered Republicans than Democrats was published:

In fact, according to the state's Division of Elections data that was most recently updated on March 31, 2023, Republicans have 5,309,005 registered voters, while Democrats are in second place with 4,854,087. 4,049,356 people identify as being independent of any party.
This pattern has persisted in recent years. Republicans topping Democrats in terms of voter registration in November 2021 was initially announced by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).
“When I got elected governor, we had 280,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans in the state of Florida,” DeSantis said at the time.
“Today, and it will probably be fully publicized very soon, today for the first time in the history of Florida, we’ve now overtaken Democrats. There are more registered Republicans in Florida than Democrats,” he announced.
Since then, Republicans have kept growing their margin. Prior to the midterm elections in October 2022, DeSantis declared that Republicans in the state would have over 300,000 more registered Republicans than Democrats.
In December, it increased to over 350,000, and in February 2023, it reached over 400,000.
Further highlighting the degeneration of the Florida Democratic apparatus, the state's GOP Chairman Christian Ziegler noted that the “other” party has overtaken the Democrats “to rank as the 2nd largest voting block by party status” in Sarasota County.
“Even MORE proof that Floridians are NOT buying the radical agenda that the Democrats are selling! Continued erosion of the Democrat Party!”
