Fox News hosts, including Sean Hannity, appealed to Americans to vaccinate themselves for COVID-19. Hannity, the host of his own talk show, made this appeal last Monday on the Sean Hannity Show.

Take COVID Seriously

“Please take COVID seriously, I can't say it enough. Enough people have died. We don't need any more deaths,” Hannity said. “Research like crazy, talk to your doctor, your doctors, medical professionals you trust based on your unique medical history, your current medical condition, and you and your doctor make a very important decision for your own safety. Take it seriously,” he added. As a parting note, he said “I believe in science, I believe in the science of vaccination.”

Even as he promoted vaccinations, Hannity also stressed the importance of maintaining confidential patient records. In particular, he strongly pushed for medical privacy and doctor-patient confidentiality.

Fox News Hosts Under Fire For Coronavirus

Many Fox News hosts have come under fire recently over their statements that seemingly downplay the seriousness of the coronavirus. Over the course of the pandemic, Fox News hosts such as Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham often go on air to contradict what government health experts recommend. This includes wearing masks and taking vaccine shots.

Last Monday, Fox New hosts Steve Doocy and Bill Hemmer joined Hannity in making statements that support vaccinations Monday. Doocy, who co-hosts the weekly Fox and Friends, advocated viewers to consider taking vaccine shots.

Their Choice To Die

However, the co-host Brian Kilmeade compared skipping vaccinations to cliff-diving. He said that people who don't survive the disease made the “choice” to die.

He issued the response when Doocy urged unvaccinated Americans to get vaccinated as soon as they can. When Doocy said that 99% of Americans dying from COVID-19 were unvaccinated, Kilmeade said that “that’s their choice.”

“Listen, if you didn’t get a vaccination, that’s your choice,” Kilmeade said. He admitted that he and his co-hosts all chose to take vaccines earlier. They also elected not to wear masks anymore. “If you want to go cliff-diving this weekend, you don’t have to check with me,” Kilmeade said. “It seems a little dangerous, but I’m not going to judge you. And if you go ahead and put yourself in danger, and you feel as though this is not something for you, don’t do it. But don’t affect my life.”

Cases Are Rising Again

US coronavirus cases are sharply rising again as the Delta variant continues to ravage the country. While many areas in the US already reached the goal of 70% vaccination, there are states that only managed to hit 40% vaccination. Among these states include Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Georgia.
