Gun Rights
Gun Control Is Not The Answer
- Proof That Gun Control Is Not The Answer (Image: MGN)
In this day in age, you can barely walk a full block without hearing or seeing something about gun control. The leaders of our country are forcing it down our throats. The “idols” or “celebrities” of our country are likewise propagating the importance of restricting gun ownership.
They get all righteous and say, “People don't kill people, guns kill people.” A part of me actually wishes that statement was true. If the statement were true maybe they wouldn't feel the need to say it during every inappropriate instance.
A Congressional Research Service study proved that wasn't true. The report explained how gun ownership skyrocketed in 1994 to 2009, going from 192 million privately owned guns to 309 million in nine years. The report went on to explain how the “firearm-related murder and non-negligent homicide,” dropped drastically from 1993 to 2011. In 1993 6.6 per 100,000 Americans died of gun-related instances, yet that dropped to 3.2 per 100,000 Americans in 2011.

Not only did it prove the liberal ideology of “guns kill people,” it also stated that the low rate of 3.2 per 100,000 maintained through most of 2014.
In 2013 alone, 21,093,723 background checks for gun owners were filed. The estimation of anywhere from 330 to 340 million privately owned firearms by the end of 2014 makes sense.
Yet, liberals want you to believe that more guns equal more bloodshed. The Congressional Research Service has not only proved it wrong but also proved that the reverse is true. As the number of privately owned guns went up, the number of gun-related murders declined.
So the true question is, why does the Democratic Party want to take our guns away? If they have the same information we have wouldn't you think they would be promoting the sale of firearms? Information has been proved that with fewer guns more violence is inevitable, and yet they still want to restrict the sale of firearms? That would then imply that violence is their true desire for the American people. They do not want us to be protected or safe. They want us dependent on a “big brother” to look out for us because we cannot look out for ourselves.
Gun control is a lie. The facts do not support it, in fact, they support the complete opposite. We have a right to bear arms, and anyone that tries to relieve you of your rights is not looking out for your best interests.
