Rep. Greene Files Impeachment Case Against President Biden

Firebrand Georgia Representative Marjorie Greene files pushed through on her promise and filed an impeachment case against President Joe Biden. Filing her suit the day after Biden’s inauguration, she took to Twitter to announce her move. “I’ve just filed articles of impeachment on president Joe Biden, we will see how this goes,” she said in a video. Greene, the Republican neophyte representative representing the 14th district of Georgia, recently reactivated her Twitter account after getting suspended due to posts related to the January 6 Capitol riot.

‘Unfit for Office’

The pro-Trump conspiracy-leaning Greene accused Biden of being unfit for office as president. In a statement, Greene said her “vast and detailed” case against Biden and shows a pattern of abuse of power. “President Biden has demonstrated that he will do whatever it takes to bail out his son, Hunter, and line his family’s pockets with cash from corrupt foreign energy companies,” she said. 

Green said that President Biden remains a threat to national security. She called for the immediate impeachment of the president. The Georgia representative accused Biden of enabling “bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors.” Also, he allowed his son Hunter to influence foreign nations and accept financial compensation in exchange for favors. 

Ukraine Aid

Green cited the elder Biden’s warning in 2015 to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid from Ukraine if they do not replace prosecutor-general Viktor Shokin. However, Biden critics said that the prosecutor was investigating Burisma, the energy company that gave Hunter Biden a lucrative job on its board. In return, Biden accused Shokin of corruption.

A subsequent Ukrainian prosecutor-general said there was no evidence of Hunter Biden breaking any laws. In fact, a USA Today fact check showed that the allegation has no connection with Hunter Biden. Biden did persuade Ukraine to “to oust its top prosecutor.” However, he did so by leveraging foreign aid. As such, the move remained consistent with US anti-corruption efforts. 

Fearful of a Biden Presidency

In a recent interview with NewsMax, Greene talked about the recent Capitol riots that opposed Biden's certification. Americans are so fearful of a future of a Biden presidency that “they may be willing to commit violence as they did at the Capitol,” she noted. However, she clarified that she doesn’t condone violence. “The American people need hope, they need to know that there are Republicans in Congress that are willing to stand up and fight for them regardless of being a minority, regardless of having all odds against us, against me,” she said. 

Greene also accused Democrats of planning to “tear this country down” using socialism. The country’s silent majority is done with “being the target and not having representatives, not having people in Congress stand up for them,” she noted. Additionally, she called for the GOP to make drastic changes.

Call For Support 

After posting her update on the impeachment, Greene went back to Twitter to call for donations. “Please – join my effort to impeach Joe Biden and donate at least $45 today. I am fighting for you in Congress, and I need your help to ensure we can stop the criminal Biden enterprise before it's too late,” she posted. Also, she posted a petition on her campaign website asking supporters to sign.
