Influencers and Celebrities Switch to TikTok Alternative Called “Triller”

Several social media influencers are now leaving TikTok following security concerns. They are now moving to a platform called Triller.

Some journalists and social media users have been concerned that a potential U.S. TikTok ban could leave some creators in a difficult position – especially those who monetize their content.

While TikTok has provided a sense of community to its users, “there has been bipartisan agreement that the app's security concerns outweigh its benefits, and with a highly competitive tech and social media market in the U.S., there are alternatives for users to continue content creation and monetization,” reported Fox Business.

Around half of TikTok’s top 300 influencers have moved to an American app called Triller. This is according to Ryan Kavanaugh, a principal executive behind Triller and an entertainment industry expert.

These influencers include Loren Gray, Kristen Hancher, Lucas and Marcus, Jacob Sartours, and others. There are also celebrities like Rebel Wilson, Kevin Hart, Alicia Keys, and Cardi B.

“Influencers said they wished they knew about the app before,” Kavanaugh said.

Crunch Base describes Triller as “an AI-powered music video app and talent discovery platform that allows users to create professional-looking videos in a matter of seconds.”

“Triller relies solely on organic growth and has more than 23 million downloads, with celebrities from Kevin Hart to Vanessa Hudgens regularly using the app to create their own music videos. Triller raised a $4.5M seed round in May 2016 and a $5M Series A funding round in February 2018, with plans to expand its AI technology and develop the brand as a talent discovery platform,” Crunch Base added.
