Coming just over 12 hours after Ted Cruz suspended his campaign, John Kasich has done the same. His campaign is no more.
John Kasich woke up this morning to find himself squaring up alone against the monster candidate that is Donald Trump. Kasich had no chance, he was over 900 delegates behind Donald Trump with no path to victory.
As one correspondent put it, “John Kasich found himself in fourth place in a two-man race.”
Kasich was holding on to the delusional belief that if things went to a brokered convention, the delegates would all swarm to him to be the Republican nominee. Not only would that not have happened, but now he won’t even have the opportunity to be embarrassed on that stage.
Kasich needed a strong anti-Trump option to pull votes and keep his dream alive. Cruz was that man. However, after he suspended his campaign he effectively suspended Kasich’s as well. Giving up the resistance to Donald Trump.
Fellow Conservatives: [Yes or No] Are Biden's Socialist Policies BAD for America?
With the party slowly unifying behind Donald Trump, it was finally clear to even Kasich that he had no place in this electin. John Kasich seemed to be the last person in American to figure out that America didn’t want John Kasich.
The only real surprise from Kasich’s message was that it took so long to be delivered.
