Obama Is Now ‘Driving Miss Daisy’
- Obama is acting as Hillary's chauffeur for her presidential campaign and is flying her in style, aka Air Force One.
- Trump on Monday tweeted the question, “Who pays?” Referring to the cost to fly Air Force One.
- Although Clinton will be forced to pay for a portion of the $200,000 an hour aircraft.
Who doesn't like to fly in style? Just imagine, you are campaigning to be the next president of the United States and you fly into your campaign rally on Air Force One. Talk about making an entrance.
That is exactly what Hillary Clinton is doing today at her rally in North Carolina. Not only will she be making her entrance on Air Force One but the president himself will be accompanying her.
Although Obama doesn't seem to have a problem being Hillary's chauffeur, Trump does.
On Twitter Monday evening, Trump posted “Why is President Obama allowed to use Air Force One on the campaign trail with Crooked Hillary? She is flying with him tomorrow. Who pays?”
The answer to that question will surprise you. The federal government, taxpayers, and candidates political organizations all help to pay for the flying of Air Force One. The plane is going to Charlotte, North Carolina specifically for Hillary's presidential campaign. That means that Hillary's campaign and the Democratic National Committee will be required to pay a portion of the bill.
The exact percentage isn't known.
Obama was forced to reimburse the government millions of dollars when he was campaigning for reelection in 2012.
No matter what “portion” of the bill Clinton is required to pay, the likelihood of it being anywhere near the entire cost is highly unlikely. Air Force One is so technologically advanced that it costs a mere $200,000 an hour to operate the equipment.
