House Speaker Nancy Pelosi-Pelosi Calls for 25th Amendment Against Trump-ss-Featured

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called for the immediate removal of President Donald Trump from office. She called for this to push through by way of the 25th Amendment.

The house speaker said that the president caused a violent mob riot at the Capitol on Wednesday. She said this was enough reason for the invocation of the 25th Amendment to be done.

Along with Pelosi, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-New York) is urging Vice President Mike Pence, as well as the Cabinet, to boot Trump from office as soon as possible. In doing so, Pelosi described the president as “a very dangerous man” and said that he committed an “act of sedition.”

Additionally, Pelosi mentioned that if Pence will not do anything regarding the matter, the House is ready for another impeachment against Trump.

A day after a mob of Trump supporters stormed through the Capitol, Pelosi said, “The president has committed an unspeakable assault on our nation and our people.”

She also added that “By inciting sedition as he did yesterday, he must be removed from office. While it's only 13 days left, any day can be a horror show for America.”

The House Speaker also stated that she had hoped for Pence to answer on Thursday regarding the invocation of the 25th Amendment.

“The president of the United States incited an insurrection against America.”

Call for Accountability

Apart from this, Pelosi also asked for the resignation of Capitol Police chief Steven Sund. She also revealed that Paul D. Irving, the House Sergeant at Arms, had submitted his recognition at the wake of the incident.

Additionally, the house speaker said that Republican House members who continue to enable Trump must hold accountability. This follows a resolution authored by Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) that expels certain GOP members from Congress. Pelosi did not mention the names of these members. Nevertheless, she condemned the ones who supported conspiracy theories. She also criticized those who undermined the results of the 2020 elections.

On Jan. 3, Pelosi said, “These Republicans abdicated their oath of office that was taken just three days prior.”

The house speaker also slammed Trump for mishandling the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This man is deadly to our democracy and to our people,” Pelosi said.
