Pregnant Florida Woman Uses AR-15 to Fend off Home Burglary

A pregnant woman from Florida reportedly saved her husband and daughter from a pair of violent intruders who had broken into their home. She used an AR-15 rifle to fatally strike one of the men, thus killing him.

Jeremy King, the family patriarch, was at home at 9pm on a Wednesday when the house was broken in by two armed men in masks and hoods. King explains that the men got the back door opened, had a pistol on him, and grabbed his 11-year-old daughter. He told the men that he had nothing for them, but the men insisted that he gives everything he’s got.

King described it as a “severe beating.” The burglars’ kicks and hits created a commotion and caught the attention of his wife. His wife checked to see what the noise was and eventually found herself dodging a bullet. It was reported that the woman retreated and took an AR-15 that was legally in their home. She went back to the room and shot one of the intruders. “He made it from my back door to roughly 200 feet out in the front ditch before the AR did its thing,” explains King.

“I’ve got a fractured eye socket, a fractured sinus cavity, a concussion, 20 stitches and three staples in my head,” said King.

According to the police, the man’s dead body was found lying in the nearby ditch. His companion, however, was on the loose.

Both intruders were not publicly identified.
